Baby and me yoga is an opportunity to move with your baby! This is an "anything goes" class, a non-judgmental space for families. During class you can take the time you need to feed, change, or rest with your baby. This is an opportunity to deepen your connection with your baby, to support your body's rehabilitation/healing and to help stretch your achy muscles. This class is intended for babies under 15 months old.

Participants will learn strategies to create a calming environment and to promote relaxation in their programs. Learn why mindfulness, meditation and gratitude practices are important to children. Leave with mindfulness and gratitude activities that you can implement right away.
Longer sessions include a make and take component and sample kids yoga class

We will work with parents and caregivers to help them to:
-understand their child's emotional world by learning to read emotional needs
-support their child's ability to successfully manage emotions
-enhance the development of their child's self esteem
-honour the innate wisdom and desire for their child to be secure
8 week sessions
2 hours per session
Participants will further explore developmental milestones and will learn how to identify and support differences. Discuss and practice objective documentation and how to have those difficult conversations with families once a concern is identified. Learn how to develop partnerships with families by exploring their priorities, values, and backgrounds.
4 hours
A workshop focused on self-care. Learn how the benefits of gentle yoga and yoga nidra can help restore our energy and wellbeing. By caring for ourselves, we can provide better care for the children and families we serve. Participants will engage in a gentle yoga and yoga nidra practice and will take the time to self reflect and learn skills to promote balance and emotional well being. Resources for further self-care will be shared.
1.5 hours
Participants will learn how they can support children who have experienced adversity and help all children build resilience to past, present and future adverse experiences.
Participants will learn:
-to recognize symptoms of trauma and resilience
-how to offer immediate support to children if they become upset and dysregulated, using the wellness skills of the Community Resiliency Model
-how to have their own self care practices to build their resilience and prevent compassion fatigue
(4 hours or longer depending on need)
In this workshop participants will learn how to use basic signs and gestures to promote language in their child care programs. You will learn and practice a variety of signs for everyday use and ways to use signs in songs and stories. Please note this is not an American Sign Language Course

This is an intensive training. In this training participants will learn strategies for:
-promoting language using natural everyday activities, routines and play
-becoming attuned to children's interests so you can follow their lead
-adjusting the way you talk to help children develop more advanced language skills
-promoting interactions among children
-facilitating language learning in pretend play
-fostering emergent literacy skills

In this training participants will learn how to :
-identify children's conversational style and the role teachers play in interactions
-implement 6 steps to following the child's lead
-help children to become better conversation partners by using appropriate questions, comments and turn taking cues
-use 5 steps to ensure that no child is left out of the interaction during group activities
7.5 hours
In this training participants will learn how to support literacy development by :
-helping children develop a positive attitude towards the use of print
-choosing books that match children's interests and stages of development
-using book reading as a time for interaction and conversation
-making print a natural and meaningful part of every day life
7.5 hours
In this training participants will learn how to encourage and support peer interactions by :
-making the most effective use of space in the room
-encouraging a variety of groupings for interactions
-providing appropriate materials and activities
-creating reasons for interactions and providing specific coaching

In this workshop participants will experience an inclusive kids’ yoga class. Adaptations/Modifications for all abilities will be discussed and explored. Participants will learn some basic chair yoga poses, strategies for various neurotypes and how to set up your environment. We will explore how yoga and mindfulness benefits all children and how to bring these practices into your classroom.
2-3 hours
Participants will explore why After School Care is vital to a child’s development and social well-being. They will learn how to create an inclusive and engaging environment, how to support social and emotional development and how to navigate the complex challenges that school age providers may encounter in their practice. We will explore the value of risky play and how to incorporate it into a School Aged program

In this workshop participants will explore current disability terminology and the strengths we all have. Participants will learn about barriers people may face when accessing assessments, wise practices for supporting neurodivergent children and how to support families when a concern has been identified.

In this workshop participants will explore current terminology and the importance of language and how it shapes our thoughts. Participants will learn about invisible disabilities, the strengths in neurodivergence, barriers to accessing support and wise practices for supporting the neurodivergent community. Learn how we can modify activities to accommodate all brains and support families to build connections.

Session 1:
Participants will explore the traditional ways in which behaviour has been viewed and explore a new way to look at a child’s behaviour and what it communicates. What is coregulation and how does it develop? (2 hours)
Session 2:
Participants will explore stressors and how they affect how we care for children with challenging behaviours. How can we best support children to succeed and feel heard? Participants will reflect on their own stressors and learn how to support themselves so that they can better support the children in their care. (2hours)
Session 1:
Fundamentals of Kids Yoga:
Participants will be introduced to the concept of children’s yoga-how is it different and the same as adult yoga. Explore the benefits of yoga for young learners. Learn how you can teach the 8 limbs of yoga to children. (2 hours)
Session 2
Yoga Inspired Classrooms:
Participants will learn the ways in which they can bring yoga and mindfulness into their early learning environments through movement, music, art , sensory experiences and games. Explore ways to bring yoga into your outdoor space. (2 hours)
Session 3
Yoga is for EveryBody:
Participants will learn how to navigate challenges that may arise when teaching yoga. How to adapt movement, breathwork and mindfulness practices to suite every learner’s needs. Explore how to create a safe, trauma informed space for every learner. (2 hours)
In this workshop participants will have the opportunity to reflect on and better understand their own feelings around children and consent. We will investigate how stories, songs, movies, and other forms of media influence our views about consent in children and how these influences affect children’s views of consent. Participants will learn ways in which they can teach children about consent, respect and bodily autonomy.
