I have 30 years of experience working with children from birth to nineteen years of age in child care and community settings. Throughout my career my focus has been on inclusion for all children. I am a licensed Early Childhood Educator, Infant/Toddler Educator and Special Needs Educator.
I am a registered 200 hour Yoga Teacher, a 95 hour Children's Yoga Teacher, a certified Kidding Around Yoga Instructor and a certified Perinatal Yoga Teacher. I've been trained in the Mindful Schools Curriculum.
I use yoga, mindfulness and gratitude practices as a platform to help children connect with themselves and others and find their place in the world. These practices can help to develop self awareness, promote regulation, create social awareness and support executive functioning skills. These are skills that children will be able to use throughout their lives.
I am a certified Circle of Security® Parent Facilitator, Community Resiliency Model® Teacher, Hanen Learning Language and Loving It® Teacher and trained as a Mehrit Centre Shanker Self Reg® Facilitator. I can offer a variety of training opportunities for child care providers, parents/caregivers and those who support children in other capacities. Please see the services and events section for more details

I was drawn to the Baobab tree as a youth. This unique tree looks like it has grown upside down, but it is beautiful and resilient.
It grows and thrives in the African savannah region. It sustains villages with its ability to hold enormous amounts of water and with its fruit, which is one of the most nutritious foods in the world. The bark of this tree is fire resistant and can be woven into many useful household items. It is at the centre of community life and it is known as the Tree of Life!
I believe that children are at the centre of our villages and communities. To me, the Baobab tree symbolizes everything that children are in our society. They are strong, unique, and fill us with hope. I want to support children to grow into strong and resilient beings so that they can continue to help their communities flourish. This is why I chose to name my company Baobab Kids.
